Do you love fishing? Do you love the gentle feel of waves tipping a boat side to side while you venture out to catch a giant?
Oh, you do … good!
It is a beautiful feeling to participate in one of nature’s oldest practices, Jon Boat fishing.
This practice relates to my earliest memories fishing in the family pond, or in some instances, on an inland lake.
Give me some of that old-fashioned fishing and I will give you a thousand-mile smile in return.
And the returns are endless with this Old Jon Boat coffee cup.
I was inspired to design this mug based in my childhood memories and a new George Strait song titled, “Rent.” This song is a fantastic piece that covers the life lessons that one learns from a day fishing on an Old Jon Boat.

But, for this writing my focus is to encompass the inspiration from the song and the life lessons that still burn in me passionately today.
Learning how to fish on a Jon Boat built a blue-collar work ethic in me. I had to collaborate with my brother launching the boat into the water, and then, keep it afloat. It leaked, so we had to constantly purge water from the boat to keep it floating on the surface of the pond.
We had to work for what we wanted, so it was an important life lesson for both of us because nothing is free in this world. I will never forget the days that we spent fishing on that Old Jon Boat.
These special moments in life live on forever in our hearts and minds, so sharing my experience with the world to help someone else have a better day is my sole purpose for writing this post, and for designing the coffee mug.
And my sole purpose for creating the brand, Syndicated Passion.
